That last line of his made me tear up. Why me? Why not. Wonderful article 🙏🏼

That was exactly what I think we all hope for from the pioneers of legalized therapy. I am curious, was there a woman who also facilitated the session with Josh? My thinking is that both energies are ideal for such healing sessions. Regardless, I am happy the healing has begun.

Closely mirrors my experiences over the last 4 years. My guide combines it with MDMA for a long and deep experience that lasts for weeks.

MDMA & therapy have been life changing for me as well.

Are you in Oregon too? I am searching too for solutions but don't trust all these "pop-up" places selling Ketamine, MDMA etc. I'm not shy about trying them but I don't want a bad experience without proper guidance. I've had bad ones with psychology and psychiatry.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience!

Psilocybin has been an absolute miracle in my life as well! I suffered for 15 years with bipolar depression. For 10 of those years it was suicidal depression. Suicidal thoughts every single day.

Psilocybin took away the suicidal thoughts, and most of the depression symptoms. It gave me my life back! It gave me energy! And allowed me to spend time with my children again.

I know the owner of bendable therapy. He's an amazing man!

Again, thank you so much for sharing your experience! I wish you continued healing and continued wholeness. 💗✨🙏🏻

That's good to know and thank you for telling us all. It's slowly coming out that there are thousands (tens of thousands? more?) of us who have been fortunate to have access to MDMA and or psilocybin through a wise and experienced guide and (anecdotally) I have heard of or from may people who have had their entire life/being changed/repaired/healed. I am 78 so for those reading, it's never too late! Or, as my guide said, "What are you waiting for?" I long for the day when it's legal everywhere, and affordable. I do worry about it being an elite experience when those who need it the most can probably afford it the least. Imagine if we could bring MDMA therapy to the ghettos and begin the class/race healing we so badly need.

Yes, exactly!!! What is beautiful about psilocybin, is that you can grow it at home.

You can be taught how to be a facilitator, or teach a loved one to facilitate for you.

This is one of the best posts ever on this Substack. I'd love to get more interviews with people describing their therapeutic experiences with psychedelics!

I couldn't agree more!!!

Wonderful story, but his dosage reporting is confusing me. 30 milligrams of dried mushroom is barely a microdose. Is he referring to synthesized psylocin? And at an exorbitant cost of $1000? Unfortunately at these prices this therapy will be out of reach for the vast majority of people.

I had the same question re dosage! See explanation under my comment above.

Got it, thanks. It is still an astronomical price to pay for 5 g of dried cubensis, even with lab tests.

Yes, I thought so too. But wasn't it by donation? And didn't it include the consultation and therapeutic sessions?

I am so glad to have read this ! For years I have searched for a solution to my C-PTSD from multiple attacks (held hostage at knifepoint, shot at, rape, and other traumas) that no psychiatrist has been able to heal or even help me cope with. Having absolutely no support from my husband and no family I had given up on finding any peace of mind in my last years of life - I'm almost 70 - and regaining all that unbound joy I used to have. Moving to AZ has made things even more difficult because I have autoimmune problems, but my hubs refuses to

move north or to the coast.

AZ is a prohibitive state, not a reasonable and more humane one as Oregon is; I've wanted to live there for a long time for those reasons and of course for the beauty of the coast and so much more!

Thank you for explaining and showing me that I DO possibly have a better future to find !

I think you should try psilocybin! Find a facilitator who is also a psychiatrist or a therapist. With all the trauma you have had, you were going to want someone with you that knows how to help you through that trauma.

I'm a facilitator in Oregon. But I am not a therapist. If you need help finding one, let me know! I just graduated from my class, and I can ask my classmates if they know anyone.

Thank you Gwen, I have had a real hard time since been 'sliced open' by therapy and then left to deal with all this scorched soul alone. For years I had kept it locked down and managed well, now all my sadness and anger is at the surface. I appreciate your offer of help more than you can imagine!

Grateful for Mr. Carroccio's positive experience and wishing him the best with integration.

I'm confused, though, by the amounts mentioned here. 30 mg? I'm unfamiliar with psilocybin as compared to mushrooms themselves, which usually require doses of 3 to 5 or more grams. Is this a concentrate?

Thanks to the person who explains, in advance.

The other person mostly got it right.

In general, we think that there is 10 mg of psilocybin in 1 g of dried mushrooms.

All testing of mushrooms has to show how many milligrams of psilocybin is in the package.

You cannot go above 50 mg of psilocybin, in one sitting, according to Oregon law. That is initial dose combined with a booster as well.

But that might be more than 5 g of mushrooms, depending upon the mushroom. All that matters to the state of Oregon is how many milligrams of psilocybin they are taking.

Makes perfect sense now. Thank you very much for the clarification, Gwen!

No, they use real dried mushroom, not synthetic psilocybin (it's very expensive). In a clinical setting we normally talk about mg of psilocybin. In Oregon the clients get dried psilocybe cubensis mushroom (no other mushroom type is approved under their program). All depending on the strength of the mushroom Mr. Carroccio probably first got 3- 4 grams, and then a booster of 1 - 2 grams. The maximum amount of mushroom in a session in Oregon is 5 grams, the way I understand it (correct me if I am wrong).

Expand full comment

The max dose is 50mg of psilocybin analyte which can drastically vary in dried weight depending on the potency.

Thanks Tori! That means that each batch of dried mushroom is tested for potency? (Yes, it is, according to Owens below).

Expand full comment

Yes, each batch is tested. The product taken by this man was grown by me with love and care. The article incorrectly states my Company name as Santori, but it is Satori Farms PDX and I am the first psilocybin licensee in The State of Oregon. This article is incredible and continues to remind me why I do what I do. I hope to see thousands more of these testimonials in the coming years.

I am extremely pleased that Mr. Carroccio feels he was helped. My heart sings with joy!

It is VERY important to remember, however, that which has great power to heal ALWAYS also has great power to harm. I have seen people become severely mentally-ill for the rest of their lives after using psilocybin mushrooms. Be Real!

Expand full comment

I would love to hear more about this.

Did they have a healer or a guide helping them? Were they turned inward, or were they using recreationally? Did they protect themselves and they're surroundings spiritually?

All of these things are harm reduction tools.

Psilocybin is spirit medicine. It is not to be used lightly as you have mentioned.

Expand full comment

"Spiritual"? I have not seen or heard of any evidence that such a thing as spirits exist. I do not believe in extremely harmful things like religion. Pushing feel-good pie-in-the-sky "spiritual" psychedelic nonsense on people who are suffering from mental illness can cause them to commit suicide. I have been greatly inspired by LSD over the decades and I have been an extremely strong advocate of using LSD as a medicine for the past 54 years. I have always thought that recreational drug use is a VERY BAD idea. The Microdose is supported by the U.C. Berkeley "Center for the Science of Psychedelics", not the "Center for the Religion of Psychedelics". I highly recommend reading my "autobiography" on substack since you clearly seem to be misinformed and harmfully uneducated about psychedelics.

Expand full comment

We might just have to agree to disagree. 🥰

Spirituality has nothing to do with religion. It can, but it doesn't have to.

Spirituality, you literally having a spirit, is just truth.

Some people call that spirit energy, some people call that spirit essence, some people call that spirit chi.

We'll have spirits, and we all have bodies.

I invite you to ingest psilocybin at some point, and ask about this.

Not only do we have spirits, but all things in this world have spirits.

When you are on the medicine psilocybin, you have access to speak to these other spirits. Just as they can speak to your spirit.

This man is a fraud. He is also my father. He is a convicted felon. He has been breaking the law since he was 17. He has also stolen my emotional support animal and refuses to return her. His wife, Tanya Carroccio is a fraud as well. She has a malpractice lawsuit headed her way due practicing out of her jurisdiction and treating my sister with illegal antibiotics. Her son is also a convicted felon. The reason Ivan writing this though is to tell you first hand that his experimenting with mushrooms has only made him worse. Mood, illegal activity, lying, stealing, cheating. This treatment has not helped him in anyway. He is not to be trusted and if you see him you should stay far away. He is completely unstable and needs to real medical help to treat his bi-polar illness. His brother is also a convicted sex offender who raped my underage cousin and the tender age of 5. Beware. He has been running from the law his entire life and continues to steal from his adult children.
