Thank you for writing this! If you create a toad society I will join. I am willing to put myself between the toads & the psychedelic bros.

thank you for writing this; I can't wait to read the book. my grandparents lived in the Arizona side of the Sonoran desert, and it's a place close to my heart. 🌵

Really appreciated this story and the conservation emphasis.

A few years ago, we published a paper in Psychedelic Medicine where we showed that it was possible to produce 5-MeO-DMT from laboratory cultured toad gland cells. The donor toad is alive and well. The fact that nobody took the slightest interest in this humane route to provide the natural “medicine” at scale, vindicates everything you have written.

I just don’t understand why this is still happening when a pure synthesized version exists that is a much better option for a variety of reasons. Most important, it is not harming the toads.

Finally some attention on this I have been speaking up for years. Thanks to my friendship with Anny Ortiz’s talks. With the popularity and so many irresponsible toad shamans both here and Europe. It’s disturbing and irresponsible not to speak up. Thank you for leading the charge. Limina Foundation is here to educate and inform. I will put a link on our webpage for the book. Growing up in San Diego surfing diving. Ive watched the abalone population disappear and 28 years in California, the sea urchins causing the collapse of the abalone’s thank to ocean temps rising. I had a few abalone holes I would dive and their gone. Sea floor covered with urchins.
